FAQs
- Q: Where should I place the Flex Chain Anchor for safest use?
A: Position it over a structural member (rafter or truss) as high above the work area as practical. Keep the lifeline in line with the load path down the roof slope to minimize swing-fall and avoid side- or back-loading.
-
Q: Can I use an SRL or a horizontal lifeline with this anchor?
A: SRLs are typically acceptable when the anchor is installed per instructions and you maintain required fall clearance. Horizontal lifeline use should only occur under an engineered design approved by a qualified person—don’t rig an HLL by default.
-
Q: Nails or screws—which fasteners should I choose, and can I mix them?
A: Use one approved method per install. Choose screws for the steepest pitches and whenever specified by the instructions; nails are allowed within their stated limits. Never mix nails and screws in the same installation or swap in unapproved fasteners.
-
Q: What about removal, inspection, and reuse?
A: Inspect before each use and perform periodic competent-person inspections. Remove the anchor from service after any fall event or if you find damage, corrosion, deformation, elongated holes, or torn rubber at the hinge. When you relocate or remove it, fill fastener holes and restore weatherproofing.
