      PTO Generator FAQs

      • How does a PTO generator work?

PTO generators create electrical power by being run with your tractor. The tractor serves as the engine and the PTO does the rest, acting as an alternator. Primarily used to power machinery, PTO generators can also be a backup source for residential or small businesses.
      • How much horsepower does a generator need?

You need to match your PTO generator to the horsepower of your tractor engine. Typically, you need 2 HP to product 1 kW of electricity. i.e. In order to produce 25 kW of power you need a 50 HP engine.
      • How big of a generator do I need?

The better question is how much generator power or total wattage you’ll need. For your exact wattage needs, consult your systems manuals.
