    Description

The D-ShakL2 1029-S is a rugged, stainless single-user anchor that installs almost anywhere you have sound structure. A 316 SS shackle with a captured 304 SS forged D-ring delivers a smooth, free-rotating tie-off, while the design supports multiple attachment methods—temporary wood installs with WS screws or permanent bolt/weld/concrete attachments—so you can standardize on one anchor for diverse jobs. Rated 5,000 lb and compliant with ANSI Z359.18-17 Type D and OSHA 1926.502, it’s a dependable, job-tough solution for crews that need flexibility without compromising safety.

    Features

    • All-stainless build: 316 stainless shackle (3/16″ × 5.0″ × 2.0″) with a 304 stainless forged D-ring and captive backer plate.
    • Strong & single-user rated: Minimum tensile 5,000 lb; max user 310 lb including tools; max arrest force 1,800 lb per manual.
    • Free-rotating, captured D-ring: D-ring rotates 180° and stays captured during handling/installation for easier, safer hookup.
    • Multiple attachment options:
      • Temporary wood framing: use SAS WS 5/16″ × 3.5″ screws into the top chord (not for HLL; max free-fall 2 ft).
      • Permanent: bolt-attach with 1/2″ Grade 5/8 or 18-8 SS bolts, field-weld, or use engineered concrete J-/wedge-anchors where appropriate.
      • Lag-bolt option (addendum): 18-8 SS 3/8″×3″ or 1/2″×3″ lags with mandatory pre-drill—no substitutions.
    • HLL compatibility (engineered): When bolt-attached or welded, may be used in SAS 30° HLL systems (No. 1335 cables), ≤20 ft between anchors, under a qualified person; WS-screw installs are not HLL-rated.
    • Compliance: ANSI Z359.18-17 Type D; OSHA 1926.502; usage and service-zone limits per manual.
    • Practical details: Dual patterns of 9/16″ bolt holes and 5/16″ WS screw holes are provided; do not mix fastener types/holes.

      FAQs

      • Q: Where can I install this anchor and what substrates are acceptable?
A: Mount directly into solid structure—wood truss, rafter, or beam for temporary installs, or permanently to steel/concrete using engineered bolts or welds as specified. Never fasten only to roof sheathing or non-structural materials.
      • Q: Which fasteners should I use, and can I mix types?
A: Use one approved method per installation: either WS 1/4″ × 3.5″ screws (temporary wood), or 18-8 stainless lag bolts (3/8″ × 3.0″ or 1/2″ × 3.0″) for permanent wood, or the specified through-bolts/welds for steel/concrete. Do not mix fastener types or holes, and follow the pre-drill/installation pattern in the instructions.
      • Q: Can I use this anchor with SRLs or in a horizontal lifeline (HLL) system?
A: SRLs are acceptable when installed per the manual and used within the fall-arrest service zone and clearance limits. HLL use requires an engineered design by a qualified person and is typically permitted only for bolt-attached or welded configurations—not WS-screw temporary installs.
      • Q: What are the inspection and removal-from-service rules?
A: Inspect before each use and have a competent person perform documented periodic inspections. Remove the anchor from service after any fall event or if you see deformation, cracks, corrosion, elongated holes, damaged fasteners, or compromised coating; repair/replace components only as allowed by the manufacturer.
