    Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Will this work with 1/4" backer rod? Are the wheels "thin" enough?

Answer: Yes they are. If the 1/4" wheel doesn't fit, they also provide a 1/8" wheel for very narrow grooves.

Answer 2:Yes it will. I used it for a patio pool deck where the cracks were only 1/8". It works great.

Question: Will this work for Frost King 3/8" backer rod?

Answer:Yes this tool works fine with 3/8" backer rod from any manufacturer.

Question: Are there replacement wheels that i can order?

      Answer:Yes. Albion makes replacement wheels

Question: Is there a model that will work with 1 1/2" backer rod?

Answer:This model should work for the 1 1/2” rod. Just note that this model doesn’t work in corners. The two wheels on the sides don’t adjust. Just the center does.

Question: What is the difference between the standard and the road model?

Answer:The standard model (640-3) includes all pieces in the road model (640-4) plus a 640-6 corner model for cove joints.
