The Swivel-D anchor is a fully articulating anchor that rotates 360-degrees and swivels 180-degrees. It can attach to virtually any structure including steel, wood, and concrete. It is manufactured with a heavy-duty stainless-steel shackle and a zinc-plated 2.0” inside diameter forged steel D-ring. It is a highly durable anchor that can be used for either temporary or permanent installation on the interior or exterior of your building or structure.

This anchor is very universal in its application as it can be bolted directly to numerous anchors already manufactured by SAS including our CRA Threaded Top Anchors/Risers, D-Plate Anchor, 2x-Member Wood Purlin Anchor, Corrugated Metal Roof Block, Standing Seam Anchor and more.

• Q: Where can I mount the Swivel-D Anchor, and how should I position it?
  A: Mount directly into sound structure—wood rafters/trusses, steel, or concrete—using the manufacturer-specified hardware and patterns for that substrate. Place it as high as practical relative to the work area and keep the lifeline aligned with the expected fall path to reduce swing-fall. Never fasten only to roof sheathing or non-structural materials.
• Q: What does the 360-degree swivel do, and are there limits on the loading direction?
  A: The swivel lets the D-ring rotate to follow worker movement, helping keep the connector aligned to the load. Use fall arrest within about ±30° of the anchor’s vertical working axis; fall restraint may be permitted 360° where no free-fall hazard exists. Avoid side-loading or back-loading the hardware.
• Q: Can I use this anchor with SRLs or as part of a horizontal lifeline (HLL)?
  A: SRLs are generally acceptable when the anchor is installed per instructions and required fall clearance is maintained. HLL use must be engineered and approved by a qualified person; multi-user ratings depend on the engineered system. Do not rig an HLL by default.
• Q: What inspections and removal-from-service rules apply?
  A: Inspect before each use and perform periodic competent-person inspections. Remove from service after any fall event or if you find deformation, cracked welds, corrosion, elongated holes, seized or rough-turning swivel components, damaged fasteners, or compromised coatings. Clean debris from the swivel as needed and follow the manual’s maintenance guidance.
