FAQs
- Q: How do I install the strap—choke or straight wrap?
A: Use a choke (pass the D-ring end through the sewn loop) around a sound structural member. Cinch snug so it can’t migrate. Do not clip a connector into the sewn loop, don’t tie knots in the webbing, and keep at least a few inches of tail beyond the choke.
-
Q: What connectors and systems are compatible?
A: Connect one ANSI-compliant locking snap hook or carabiner to the forged D-ring. The strap is for a single user as part of a complete PFAS (harness + connector + anchor). It’s not a lifting/rigging sling and isn’t intended for horizontal lifelines unless engineered by a qualified person.
-
Q: What are the capacity and strength limits?
A: Typical maximum user is 310 lb including tools and equipment. The strap/D-ring system minimum tensile strength is 5,000 lb when used as directed. Always attach to a structure that meets or exceeds anchorage strength requirements.
-
Q: What inspection, care, and removal-from-service rules apply?
A: Inspect before each use and periodically by a competent person. Remove from service after any fall event or if you see cuts, glazing, heavy abrasion, chemical damage, UV bleaching, broken stitches, or corrosion/deformation at the D-ring. Keep off sharp edges (use edge protection), clean with mild soap and water, air-dry out of heat, and store dry away from sunlight and chemicals.
