Description
The OMG RGDP008B is an 8" #12 Standard RoofGrip Drill-Point fastener designed to attach roof insulation and membranes to steel (18–24 gauge) and approved wood decks. It uses deep buttress threads to resist pull-out forces. Its sharp drill-point allows for retrofit or new installation, and the CR-10 coating offers durable corrosion protection.
Key Features:
-
Deep buttress threads for superior pull-out performance
-
Drill-point design enabling penetration in retrofit or new construction
-
#3 Phillips truss head for compatibility with common screw guns
-
CR-10 corrosion-resistant coating that satisfies FM 4470 and EAD 030351
-
Factory Mutual and Miami-Dade accepted in qualifying systems

How To
- Compute total fastener length needed: insulation + membrane + embedment depth.
-
Align the fastener perpendicular to the deck with a screw gun and #3 Phillips bit.
-
Drive until a slight depression forms in the insulation or around the plate; avoid overdriving.
-
Ensure the pressure plate does not rotate and that proper snugness is achieved.
-
In rigid cover board assemblies, monitor torque to prevent deck stripping.
-
Perform pull tests in field locations to validate anchorage.
