• Select the correct locking position on the bracket arm that corresponds to your roof pitch (one of six preset angles). 
• Slide the mounting plate beneath the shingles or slate at the chosen location and ensure the bracket’s surface bears flat on the roof sheathing over a rafter.
• Secure the bracket to the roof using 20-penny (or equivalent) nails through all mounting slots; all nails must penetrate both the roofing surface and underlying rafter. 
• Install a 10″ width scaffold plank (minimum nominal 2″ thick, clear straight-grained wood) so the plank extends 6″ to 12″ beyond the bracket arm for proper support. 
• When staging work, maintain spacing between brackets no more than 8 feet and restrict to one worker plus material load per 8 ft section. 
• After use, fold the bracket flat for storage or transport and inspect for damage, deformation or rust before the next use.

A: No. This bracket is designed only for staging or material support and must not be used as a personal fall-arrest anchor. A certified anchor point or fall-protection system must be used separately.
