The owner of C-Port, Neil Krovats, has plenty of knowledge in the plumbing and construction industry, as he grew up learning the trades. When he purchased the company from his father, he had over 20 years of experience in project bidding, product design, and customer service. He used all of these skills to create a market leader. From there, he branched out into developing a new business called Clearline.

C-Port started with his invention of a rooftop equipment support system created from recycled rubber tires. His invention was then patented with the design title C-Port. Within a few months, Clearline Technologies was distributing across North America out of Winnipeg headquarters. C-Port was named Product of the Year in their category by ECM (Electrical Contractor and Manager) Magazine and was in the running for overall Product of the Year.
