Polymer based Lucas #5100 Metal Roof Base Coating is an elastomeric solvent based coating intended for the repair and restoration of metal roofs. Use on barns, warehouses, metal trailers and shipping containers. Ultra-low moisture permeability prevents corrosion while high elasticity allows conformation to building movement. Available in gray. Lucas #5100 is based on tough Styrene Ethylene/Butylene Styrene polymers and clear adhesive hydrocarbon resin in an aromatic hydrocarbon vehicle. Its gray color allows visual differentiation between base and top coatings. Additionally, high loadings of anti-oxidants and light stabilizers ensure durability throughout roof service life.

APPLICATION
Surface to be coated must be dry and free of dirt or corrosion particles. All seams, fasteners and penetrations should be sealed with #5500 Seam Sealer. Apply Lucas #5100 Metal Roof Base Coating at a rate of one gallon per 100 square feet. MECHANICALLY MIX coating thoroughly before application. For best results, maintain coating temperature at 70° F or higher. When the Base Coating is cured, apply the Top Coating of Lucas #5000 at a rate of one gallon per 100 square feet. For best results, apply coating in one direction with the slope of the roof. Roofing asphalts may cause staining. Apply lucas #5500 Seam Sealer to any asphalt areas of the roof prior to coating with #5100. As this condition is unpredictable, we recommend that the user apply a small amount of #5100 to the area of the roof to be coated in order to test its performance. Use #5100 as it comes from the container, no thinning is necessary with this product. Clean up with mineral spirits and waterless hand cleaner.
