    FAQs

    • Q: Where should I mount the anchor and how should it be oriented?
A: Install directly over a structural member (rafter or truss) and place it as high above the work area as practical—typically near the ridge. Keep the tie-off in line with the expected fall path to minimize swing-fall and avoid side- or back-loading.
    • Q: Which fasteners should I use, and can I mix nails and screws in one install?
A: Use one approved method per installation. Follow the instruction manual’s patterns (for example, a full nail pattern or a full screw pattern) and hole sizes. Do not mix fastener types, do not substitute unapproved hardware, and ensure full embedment into structure.
    • Q: Can I use a self-retracting lifeline (SRL) or horizontal lifeline (HLL) with this anchor?
A: SRLs are acceptable when the anchor is installed per the screw specification and required fall clearance is maintained. HLL use must be engineered and approved by a qualified person; do not rig an HLL by default or when the anchor is nailed.
    • Q: What are the inspection and removal-from-service rules?
A: Perform a pre-use inspection each shift and periodic competent-person inspections. Remove the anchor from service after any fall event or if you see deformation, cracks, corrosion, elongated holes, or damaged hardware. When the job phase is complete, remove the anchor, fill fastener holes, and restore the roof’s weatherproofing.
