Stainless Steel = 24 ga.Base Rails: Van Mark has 2 full base rail extrusions for a “full frame” brake and the castings are mounted on top of them. Others have a rear rail but their front hinge is also their base rail. It’s why other brakes can twist and struggle with anything thicker than .019 aluminum.
Cam Locking system: we have a cam and a wedge, the cam presses into the wedge so you don’t need to adjust your brake for different thicknesses. Others use a toggle lock. It pops closed. That pop is “metal on metal” contact which is never good. Also, other systems require a lot of adjustments and replacements for when they wear out and malfunction. It’s a headache that doesn’t exist with Van Mark brakes.
Castings: we have a cast aluminum base and cast aluminum top arm. Others use a cast aluminum base casting but the top portion is extruded aluminum and is bolted to the base and held in place with springs.
Locking Handle: Van Mark locks by pushing away from user so the handle is out of the way on large bends. If a user learned on other brakes, they may be used to locking brakes backwards. A couple days and they are typically used to our more efficient way.
Bending Handle: Van Mark uses a full loop handle for 2 contact points with a user only using one hand for a consistent bend the full 10’. Others use 2 separate handles which are prone to cause uneven over/under bends. Also, our handle posts don’t catch and break when loading the brake on and off the truck.

What is the difference between the Mark I (red) and Mark II TrimMaster® (green) Brakes?

The hinge. The Mark I has a set hinge and the Mark II has a “POWERslot” hinge. The “POWERslot” hinge makes a standard5/8” bend and the set hinge makes a standard 3/4” bend.
