This version most closely resembles the 6127 tool, a better length for roofers under 6 feet.
The entire D handle is made of steel, easy for gripping, and adds only about 1/2 lb to the overall weight of the tool. It is well-balanced and will slide easily under shingles. Smooth finish, no sharp angles, and comfortable. We worked for over 2 years to get the design right on the D Handle, and so far, roofers have been impressed with our workmanship. Contractors who have used this tool said it was comfortable to use, and they could get better leverage with their body weight with the D Handle. Overview
At ShingleEater, all of our tools are "designed by contractors, for contractors." Our new perfectly balanced "D Handle" tool is a perfect example of a variation on our classic design that grew out of a contractor's need for a general purpose tool that would give him the comfort of a traditional shovel handle.
Like all ShingleEater products, this tool has a footplate made with consistent quality steel, then hand stamped with stiffening corrugations, and heat treated to ensure the right amount of flex for easy lifting of shingles. The teeth are designed to wear evenly and work better over the life of the tool.
Contractors who have used this new tool have said it was comfortable to use and they could better leverage their body weight with the "D" Handle.
