Get back on track with the new standard in portable brakes. The new Industrial Metal Master® 20 EZ™ gives you more flexibility to make the complex bends now in demand with metal & commercial roofing jobs. With a throat depth of 20 3/8" (51.8cm), the Industrial Metal Master® 20 EZ™ has now become the new standard from which others will be measured.
Reinforced Lock Master™ castings are 25% stronger
Deepest working pocket available at 20 3/8”
Low profile extended platform is 9” longer
Center-Weighted wheels “spin on a dime”
Large Heavy-Duty Ball Bearing Wheels
Ergonomic heavy-duty bending handles
Length = 10'6"
Bending Capacities (recommended)
Aluminum = .050
Galv. Steel = 20 ga.
Painted Steel Grade D = 24 ga.
Copper = 36 oz.
Zinc Alloy = .050
Stainless Steel = 24 ga.Base Rails: Van Mark has 2 full base rail extrusions for a “full frame” brake and the castings are mounted on top of them. Others have a rear rail but their front hinge is also their base rail. It’s why other brakes can twist and struggle with anything thicker than .019 aluminum.
Cam Locking system: we have a cam and a wedge, the cam presses into the wedge so you don’t need to adjust your brake for different thicknesses. Others use a toggle lock. It pops closed. That pop is “metal on metal” contact which is never good. Also, other systems require a lot of adjustments and replacements for when they wear out and malfunction. It’s a headache that doesn’t exist with Van Mark brakes.
Castings: we have a cast aluminum base and cast aluminum top arm. Others use a cast aluminum base casting but the top portion is extruded aluminum and is bolted to the base and held in place with springs.
Locking Handle: Van Mark locks by pushing away from user so the handle is out of the way on large bends. If a user learned on other brakes, they may be used to locking brakes backwards. A couple days and they are typically used to our more efficient way.
Bending Handle: Van Mark uses a full loop handle for 2 contact points with a user only using one hand for a consistent bend the full 10’. Others use 2 separate handles which are prone to cause uneven over/under bends. Also, our handle posts don’t catch and break when loading the brake on and off the truck.
Q:
What is the difference between the Mark I (red) and Mark II TrimMaster® (green) Brakes?
A:
The hinge. The Mark I has a set hinge and the Mark II has a “POWERslot” hinge. The “POWERslot” hinge makes a standard5/8” bend and the set hinge makes a standard 3/4” bend.
Q:
Why a Van Mark brake over a Competitors?
A:
The Overall Quality and the tools are stronger: 2 full base rails for a full frame brake and a locking jaw with a reinforced aluminum hollow core extrusion.
A:
Lower maintenance and cost of ownership: Fewer moving parts mean fewer things to go wrong, fewer field adjustments and less need to be repaired.
Q:
Which Van Mark is the closest competitor to the others 14’ throat and 19” throat brakes?
A:
The TM10 and M10 have a 14” throat depth and the MM1050 has a 20 3/8” throat depth.
Q:
Are replacement/maintenance parts available?
A:
Yes. Parts are available for every Van Mark EVER manufactured.
Q:
What thicknesses will Van Mark brakes bend?
A:
M10: .019-.032 alum MM1050: .019-.032 alum IT10: up to 24 ga. painted steelTM10: .019-.032 alum T1050: .019-.024 alum IM1055: up to 24 ga. painted steel
Q:
How thick will the TrimCutter cut?
A:
Up to 24 ga. painted steel, or generally “anything the brake will bend”.
Q:
Will Van Mark TrimCutter, TrimFormer and QuickScore work on competitors brakes?
A:
No. Van Mark uses a 4-point track bearing system while others use less expensive dual-point tracking system. Therefore, other brakes are not built to properly accommodate these Van Mark Accessories.
Q:
Does the CD24 attach to the brake?
A:
No, unlike others that require you to attach it to the brake for it to work, the Van Mark Coil Dispenser offers you the choice to not only set up to feed directly into any brake, but also onto a table or work bench if you should require that.
