The Malco MV12 Andy Combination Snip is a specialized aluminum-handled combination snip designed for cutting heavy vinyl siding lock seams and other flexible non-ferrous materials. Unlike standard Andy snips, the MV12 features a unique knife-like blade grind that creates a smooth slicing action for easier one-hand operation on vinyl, trim coil, flooring, carpeting, leather, and similar materials. Q: What is the primary difference of the MV12 versus MC12NG?
A: The primary difference between the MC12NG and MV12 is the profile of the grind on the blades. Both of the MC12N blades are the same with a 30 degree grind angle. The MV12 blade setup is unique with one blade ground to 60 degrees and then the other blade is a M12N blade (not MC12N). This “knife-like” edge makes cutting vinyl siding noticeably better.
