Two things are essential when working on a roof: tools and a complete fall
protection system. Both of these are obtainable in one revolutionary product –
the AES Raptor R1000 Mobile Fall Protection System. The AES Raptor R1000 is a
mobile fall protection cart designed for use on flat roofs. No assembly is necessary.
Simply hoist the Raptor to the roof, position it 15’ from the leading edge, hook your
safety lines to the Roof Safety Engagement Device and you are ready to work.
- OSHA Compliant
- No Assembly Required
- No Counterweights
- No Loose Parts
- Useful On Every Job Site
Optional Raptor Alert:
The Raptor Alert Fall Warning
System is the only product on the market that alerts other workers if a
fall occurs on a job site. Often job sites are busy and noisy, which
could cause a fall to go unnoticed for a prolonged period of time.
Allowing an employee to suspend for more than 30 minutes can cause
unconsciousness that can be followed by death. AES Raptor has designed
a new innovative device that alerts workers to a fall by a piercing 130
decibel siren and an amber colored strobe light. This unit can be
installed on all R1000 Mobile Fall Protection units currently in the
market place or can be factory installed with the purchase of your new
R1000 or TriRex.
- Amber MICROSTROBE® IV Strobe Light emits 60 to 80 flashes per minute
- Piercing 130 Decibel Multi-Tone Siren emits Two Tones Simultaneously
- Rechargable, Maintenance-Free 12-V Battery
- Easy to retrofit on existing units
- Easy to test with your daily inspections
- Audible & visual warning

WHERE ARE THE COUNTERWEIGHTS?
The Raptor R1000 has no counterweights. Solid steel frame members along with the leverage of the safety engagement arm eliminates the need for cumbersome counterweights.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If a fall were to occur, the Raptor R1000’s patent-pending Roof Safety Engagement Device penetrates the roof creating a secure anchor point to restrain or arrest the fall.
HOW MANY MEN CAN ATTACH TO THE RAPTOR R1000?
Two.* The Raptor R1000 is rated for two men for fall arrest.
* With the optional Fall Restraint Tie-Off Rings an additional two men can be attached to the Raptor R1000.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FALL ARREST AND FALL RESTRAINT?
Fall arrest is the stopping of a fall in progress. Fall restraint is to stop before it occurs.
IS THE RAPTOR R1000 OSHA APPROVED?
OSHA no longer offers an approved status to products. OSHA regulations and standards are established as the criteria to be met in the design of products. The Raptor R1000 is manufactured to comply with OSHA Regulation 1926.502(d) for fall arrest anchors.
WHERE DO I HOOK UP TO ON THE RAPTOR R1000?
Two rings that are welded to a green plate located in the center on one side of the Raptor R1000.
These two green rings are the tie off points. The four yellow lifting hooks located on each corner
of the Raptor R1000 are for hoisting purposes only.
ARE THERE ANY PARTS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED OR RE-CERTIFIED IF THERE IS
AN ACTIVATION OF THE SYSTEM?
No. If the activation is strong enough, the engagement claw may stick in the substrate. Dislodge the claw from the substrate and the engagement arm will return to its ready position. A competent individual should inspect the unit for any damage and to insure that the engagement arm moves in an uninhibited manner. The Raptor R1000 may be repositioned and used again.
CAN THE BASE MODEL RAPTOR R1000 BE USED WITHOUT THE LARGE JOB BOX?
No. The large job box is an integral part of the Raptor R1000 and is bolted to the frame.
WHAT TYPE OF TIRES ARE INSTALLED ON THE RAPTOR R1000?
All Raptor R1000s now come standard with Solid Polyurethane Tires.
WHAT DOES THE RAPTOR R1000 WEIGH?
The empty weight of the base model Raptor R1000 with solid tires, is 770 pounds. Each AES Raptor R1000 has a sticker inside the lid of the rear job box which provides the empty weight of the various models.
CAN I INSTALL MY OWN EQUIPMENT ON THE RAPTOR R1000?
Yes. AES Raptor offers an optional 12 cubic foot job box but the base model is sold without any optional equipment, giving the owner the opportunity to install their own equipment.
CAN THE ENGAGEMENT SYSTEM BE INSTALLED ON THE ROOFING CARTS I ALREADY OWN?
No. The AES Raptor R1000 is specifically designed and tested to operate in combination with the Roof Safety Engagement Device. A fabricated roofing cart would not comply with OSHA regulations without proper testing and certification, thus subjecting the workers and owners to potential hazards and fines.
